Serge Lazareff is an experienced arbitrator and member of the Paris Bar. He has served as Chairman, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, under both civil and common law. He received his Doctor of Law from the University of Paris and holds an L.L.M. from Harvard. He is Chairman of the ICC Institute of World Business Law and Chairman of the French Arbitration Commission of ICC France.
As a French Army Officer, Lazareff was General Eisenhower’s interpreter at the time of creation of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), the central command of NATO military forces in Europe. He then served as Legal Advisor to the Commander-in-chief of Allied Forces Central Europe (NATO), practicing public international law, administrative law and liaising with French administrations. Thereafter, he became General Counsel for International Operations and Vice-President Asia-Pacific of Pechiney, the leading French industrial group.
He returned to private practice as a lawyer and arbitrator and became a professor at HEC Paris. He is Commander of the Legion of Honor and holds several other distinctions. He has authored numerous articles on international arbitration.
